Black Maths is the reflective design blog of third year Graphic Communication student Gareth Dunt.
It acts to collect, comment and share inspiring work from around the globe. It is also a way to document my experiences as a design student - both positive and negative. I always like hearing from people who enjoy this blog. If you want to submit a link or talk about anything you see on here, send me an email and we'll have a chat.
Here's a novel light by industrial designer Roger Arquer. It uses condensation to diffuse light from the bulb. When the light is turned off, the condensed substance collects at the base and the whole process starts again. Marvelous.
What a fantastic idea. This ink calender was designed by Oscar Diaz and is a fine example of out of the box thinking. Each day, the ink spreads through the paper creating visible digits. Check out his other work, it's superb.
Don't let the rather choice title screen put you off. This is a great piece of seductive film documenting a day at the races. Uploaded by Vimeo user Philip Bloom.
A friend posted this on their Facebook wall today. I saw the title and couldn't resist clicking the link. What a fantastic find! I hope you enjoy these paintings as much as I did.
Mike Barzman got in touch with an update to his portfolio. The video was shot using a Phantom high speed camera at 1800 fps. It's a stunning piece of moving image and you must watch this. He has a website which you should keep an eye on. Thanks for getting in touch Mike!
